Boldon, Gigi
Gigi’s journey as an artist began in her early years, blossoming into a lifelong passion. After formal training at Columbus College of Art and Design and earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, she bravely transitioned from a successful graphic design career to pursue art full-time in 1993. Despite facing personal challenges, her work radiates the essence of womanhood and love. Inspired by renowned artists such as Romare Bearden and Henri Matisse, Gigi specializes in acrylics and mixed media, showcasing cultural reflections of African-American people. Her studio in Detroit serves as a creative sanctuary where she dedicates countless hours to her craft, driven by her unwavering passion for artistic expression and the beauty of the human form.
