Brathwaite, Kolongi

Kolongi Brathwaite, born in Bridgetown, Barbados, is a self-taught artist who migrated to America with the sole aim of establishing himself internationally. Since childhood, his singular passion has been crafting magnificent artworks resonating with audiences globally, particularly focusing on the narrative of Africa and its people. His renowned pieces, such as “Hip Hop Culture” and “Who Shot The Sheriff” featuring Tupac Shakur and Bob Marley, have garnered widespread admiration, with some now displayed in esteemed venues like the Bob Marley Museum in Jamaica. Most recently, his work “Freedom Riders,” featuring former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, continues to captivate audiences, showcasing his versatility in both realism and abstract expressionism.
