Bua, Justin

For more than ten years, BUA, an artist hailing from the vibrant streets of NYC’s Upper West Side, has been shaping popular culture through his distinctive style known as Distorted Urban Realism. Raised by a single mother, he absorbed the raw energy of Manhattan’s streets, blending formal education at Fame’s High School of Music and Performing Arts with grassroots experiences in graffiti and breakdancing. At 16, he performed worldwide with The New York Express, even sharing the stage with Rudolf Nureyev in Italy. After earning a B.F.A. in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design, BUA entered the art scene by designing skateboard bottom paintings and creating fine art posters, later venturing into commercial freelance work with notable clients like Warner Bros. and Nike. He also contributed to MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge Show” and conceived the Comedy Central series “Urbania,” showcasing his multifaceted talent and commitment to urban culture.
