Leroy Campbell, a self-taught mixed-media artist from Charleston, SC, channels his Gullah heritage into vibrant acrylic collages. Inspired by Romare Bearden, Campbell’s work features vintage fabrics and newsprint, capturing the spirit of his community. The “The Gullah Collection,” series honors Gullah rituals and preserves history. Through his art, Campbell immortalizes the resilience of African descent from the late 1800s to the mid-1960s.
