Faust, Clifford

Clifford Faust, hailing from Oklahoma but raised in Oregon, finds fulfillment both professionally and personally in the bustling metropolis of New York City. Following studies at the Los Angeles Art Center School and a stint in San Francisco, Faust embarked on a journey across the country in a Volkswagen Beetle, eventually landing in New York. Along the way, he encountered diverse individuals and visited captivating locales that would later shape his artistic endeavors.

Upon arriving in the city, Faust felt he had stepped into a surreal wonderland, with Central Park’s flower children and the chic models of 5th Avenue providing endless inspiration. He was fortunate to connect with his idol, Jack Potter, at the School of Visual Arts, where he honed his distinctive mixed media, cut-paper style. Faust’s influence is from Bernie Fuchs, Mark English, the French Impressionists, and masters like Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and Egon Schiele.
In his career, Faust has collaborated with prominent advertising agencies in New York and lent his artistic talents to numerous book covers for publishers across the United States and Canada.
