Green, Jonathan

Jonathan Green, an esteemed artist with a forty-year career, is renowned for his cross-cultural fine art centered on themes of work, love, belonging, and spirituality. A graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, his work is celebrated internationally for depicting American and African American Southern cultures. Green’s mastery of color and human figures reflects deep community values and life challenges. He has received numerous awards and honorary degrees and serves as Ambassador for the Arts in Charleston, South Carolina. His art has been integrated into various cultural productions across the United States. Currently based in downtown Charleston, he continues to create in his studio.
