Mavruk, Hulis
Hulis Mavruk, born on July 4, 1952, in Southern Turkey, embarked on his painting journey at age 6, gaining recognition from critics despite lacking formal training. Self-taught, he established a global presence with exhibitions worldwide. Notably, his Incirlik Air Force Base gallery showcased portraits of American officers, fostering connections with African-American servicemen. Moving to the U.S. in 1972, he dedicated himself to celebrating African American culture through his diverse artwork, spanning various styles and mediums. Today, he operates a gallery in Boca Raton, Florida.
