Saint James, Synthia

Synthia Saint James, born February 11, 1949, is a multifaceted American figure renowned as a visual artist, author, speaker, educator, and actor prominent in the 1970s. Notably, she crafted the original cover art for Terry McMillan’s “Waiting to Exhale” hardcover. She also created the inaugural Kwanzaa stamp for the USPS in 1997, followed by the Kwanzaa Forever Stamp in 2016. Raised in Los Angeles and the Bronx, she made her first sale in NYC at 20 and currently resides in LA.
