Ward, Dwight Juda
Dwight “Juda” Ward, an artist rooted in the Renaissance style, draws inspiration from masters like El Greco, Caravaggio, and Leonardo. Raised in Wilson, NC, he constantly honed his craft, questioning conventional portrayals of biblical figures from childhood. Encouraged by family and friends, he pursued art education at the School of Visual Arts, earning a BFA. Drawing from African history, he adopted the Hebrew name “Juda” meaning “he who is praised,” and aims to bring joy to the African community and beyond through his art, which has garnered widespread acclaim and sales.
